Municipal Recreation Facilities

The City of Thorold owns and operates several recreational facilities for the enjoyment of its residents.  Facilities include the arenas, parks, pool, splash pads, trails and community centres that are available for public use; some municipal facilities may also be reserved for tournaments, special events or private rentals.

The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the maintenance and rental of municipal facilities available for private and public use; volunteer boards of management are responsible for renting and maintaining each of the municipality's community centres.

To book park facilities for special events, activities or non-league scheduled games, including baseball diamonds, soccer fields, passive parks, pavilions or the bandshell, please contact the Recreation Coordinator at 905-227-6613 ext. 231 or  To access a community centre, please contact the appropriate community centre volunteer board of management.

In April of 2015, the City of Thorold adopted a Municipal Concussion Awareness and Management Policy to ensure the safe participation of all registrants in municipal recreation programming. This policy is applicable to all municipal programs where registration is required in order to participate.
